Once upon a time, in a world filled with magic and wonder, dragons roamed the skies. Their scales shone like precious gems in the sun beaming with stunning colors. Each gleamed a unique color and distinguished them all. And their wings stretched out, wider than twelve men across.
These dragons were no ordinary beasts, for they had been bestowed a special purpose. They were protectors of the earth, tasked with keeping the balance between good and evil. They had been created by the ancient gods to fly across the land the desert and mountains, and even the sea to defend it from any threat that might arise.
Whenever evil lurked on the horizon, the dragons would take flight. Their powerful wings would beat the air like thunder, and they would fly faster than the speed of sound. They would swoop down on their enemies, breathing fire and lightning, and their foes would be vanquished.
The dragons were beloved by all, for they were not just fierce warriors, but also kind and gentle creatures. They had a bond with nature, and to the humans that went beyond mere friendship. They would often spend time near the villages, playing with the children, and on very special occasions, for an honored chosen few, let them climb on their backs and take short rides toward the mountains and back. Their presence brought joy and happiness to all who saw them.
One day, an ancient and dormant volcano began erupting. From its fiery belly a great beast rose. It was a creature of immense power, with eyes that glowed like embers and a voice that could shatter mountains. It began scorching the earth, burning all that lay in its path to cinder and ash. The dragons took action, for the fate of the earth was at stake.
With a mighty roar, the dragons took soared across the land, their wings beating furiously. They flew faster than ever before and soon they were upon the evil creature.
